Marilyn Eaton-Thomas has been associated
with The PACE Group since 2005 assisting with searches in
economic development and healthcare and conducting executive
performance evaluations.
Before joining The PACE Group, Marilyn had a
long career in public service, having worked in several levels
of government in her native Kentucky. On the local level,
she administered public jobs programs for county government
and was involved with area development districts in a policy
and research roll. On the state government level, she helped
design and manage the Community Development Block Grant program
which funds projects in economic development, housing and
public facilities. She also managed the Kentucky Infrastructure
Authority which awarded approx. 50 million annually in state
and federal funds providing loans and grants to local governments
for water, wastewater and solid waste projects. Her last full
time position with state government was as Deputy Commissioner
of the Department for Coal County Development, the agency
which allocated coal severance tax revenue for job creation
projects and regional industrial park development in the coal
producing counties.
Marilyn continues to work as a Legislative Assistant
for the Legislative Research Commission during annual sessions
of the Kentucky General Assembly.
She completed her education at Western Kentucky
University and attends its Alumni College and other events
each year.
Active in the community, Marilyn serves
on the Civil Service Board, United Way Project Review Committee,
Franklin County Diabetes Coalition, Friends of the Library
and Blue Stocking Book Club. She is a former President of
the Frankfort Business and Professional Woman's Organization.
She and her husband Neil enjoy traveling, University of Kentucky
basketball, movies and PBS. They attend the Capital City Christian
Church.
