Purpose of Position
and Scope of Responsibility
Provides innovative leadership to maximize the Quality Department's
contribution to the overall hospital performance through effective
planning, as well as, human and financial resource management,
which result in quality outcomes in line with financial goals
of the institution. Responsible for assuring hospital compliance
with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as,
accrediting organizations. Incumbent is accountable for departmental
management twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days
per week.
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities
1. Planning, implementation and marketing of services, which
meet the needs, identified internal and external customers.
2. Operational management of the department including but
not limited to hiring, training, supervising, counseling,
evaluating, all employees and maintaining regulatory requirements.
3. Financial management of the department including but not
limited to capital and operational budgeting, variance analysis
and management of resources within financial and productivity
standards.
4. Displays leadership through communicating the BMH vision/values,
coaching, monitoring, counseling, and setting of departmental
policies and goals.
5 Communication/Interaction with identified internal and external
customers.
6. Coordinated, implements and evaluates the hospital and
medical staff clinical and operational performance improvement
activities.
7. Oversees the coordination, implementation and evaluation
of all clinical quality initiatives as it relates to external
organization.
8. Assists with coordination and facilitation of the accreditation
process
9. Oversees the hospital's infection control practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience
* Two years clinical experience in an acute
care setting or two years Mgt/Quality Mgt experience and two
years management experience in a healthcare setting.
Licensure Registration, Certification
* Current RN licensure in the state of Mississippi.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge/Education
* Master's degree in Nursing with knowledge
of utilization management, quality management, federal, state,
and local laws, and standards of accrediting agencies.
Experience
* Three years clinical experience in an acute
care setting and two years Utilization Mgt/Quality Mgt experience.
Three years management experience in a healthcare setting;
at least two years management in Utilization Mgt/Quality Mgt.
Licensure Registration, Certification
* Current RN licensure in the state of Mississippi.
CPHQ or CCM Certification.
Physical Requirements
Essential Physical Requirements: Work requires
the physical demands of sitting, standing, bending, lifting,
stooping or performing other work requiring light physical
exertion (up to 30 pounds) on an occasional basis (up to 15%
of time) and frequent walking.
Must be able to use written, auditory, and verbal
sources of information; exhibit digital dexterity; be able
to process infromation and prioritize work load.
Environmental Conditions
Essential Environmental Conditions: Work
is performed under basically normal working conditions as
in a standard office environment.
