Burke County EDC in Morganton, North Carolina

The President serves as the primary position for economic development for Burke County, North Carolina. The President is responsible for the overall leadership and day to day operations of the Burke EDC. The President serves at the pleasure of The Burke County Economic Development Council Board of Directors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Serve as the Executive for The Burke EDC.

* Effectively build relationships with the Cities, County, and the business community to aggressively promote Burke County.

* Generate suspects and prospects that result in job creation and capital investment.

* Establish and maintain close working relationships with the North Carolina Department of Commerce and other local, state, and federal stakeholders.

* Create a climate that will maximize positive economic growth through creative leadership.

* Create effective channels of communication with all levels of government.

* Manage the finances, day-to-day operations, and staff of the Burke EDC.


QUALIFICATIONS

* Proven track record in economic development with documented results.

* Previous experience working with variety of economic development projects.

* Understand the role of local economic development.

* Ability to deal in diverse climates.

* Strong leadership skills.

* Strong communication skills.

* Previous management experience.
