Job Description

The Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is a Top 50 rated Children's museum located in Gulfport, Mississippi. The Lynn Meadows Discovery Center Executive Director is responsible for museum's mission delivery through operations, programs, overall financial performance, fund development, marketing and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

* Involved in all aspects of administering the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center.
* Reviews, recommends and implements museum exhibits as part of an overall educational program.
* Strategic planning
* Oversee all media relations
* Grant solicitation and administration.
* Develop & supervise all aspects of fundraising & event planning.
* Hiring and supervision of staff, contract workers, experts & volunteers
* Increase collaborations and maintain community and governmental relations
* Responsible for developing and adhering to budgets
* Aggressively market the Museum to build awareness of the programs and fundraising efforts of the organization.
* Create a climate that will maximize growth and outreach through creative leadership.
* Understand the mission of the Organization and its relationship to the community, state, and region.
* Manage the relationships with the Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers

Qualifications

* Non-profit executive experience required
* Children's Museum experience preferred
* Proven track record in successful fundraising
* Strong background in Education preferred
* Strong public relations, marketing, and presentation skills
* Strong leadership skills
* Exhibit a high level of professionalism

Education

* Bachelor Degree required
* Masters Degree strongly preferred
