Claiborne County Economic Development District in Port Gibson, Mississippi

The Executive Director / CEO serves as the primary position for economic development for Claiborne County, Mississippi. The Executive Director / CEO is responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day operations of the Claiborne County Economic Development District. The Executive Director / CEO serves at the pleasure of the Claiborne County Economic Development District Board of Trustees.


RESPONSIBILITIES

* Serve as the Executive for the Claiborne County EDD.

* Effectively build relationships with the City, County, MDA, Utilities including Entergy, Regional Economic Development Groups, and the business community to aggressively promote Claiborne County.

* Generate and evaluate legitimate prospects that result in job creation and capital investment.

* Establish and maintain close working relationships with the Mississippi Development Authority and other local, state, and federal stakeholders.

* Create a climate that will maximize positive economic growth through creative leadership.

* Create effective channels of communication with all levels of government.

* Manage the finances and day-to-day operations of the Claiborne County Economic Development District.

* Implement the strategic plan.



QUALIFICATIONS

* 5+ years of proven track record in economic development with documented results.

* Previous experience working with variety of economic development projects.

* Understand the role of local economic development.

* Ability to deal in diverse climates.

* Understand rural economic development

* Strong leadership skills.

* Strong communication skills.

* Previous management experience.
