PRIMARY FUNCTION

The President serves as the primary position for economic, business and community development for The Huntington Area Development Council - HADCO. The organization is a private, non-profit 501 (c)(3). The President serves at the pleasure of The HADCO Executive Committee.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Serve as the Executive for HADCO.

* Effectively build relationships with the City, County, State, Marshall University and the business community to aggressively promote Huntington and Cabell and Wayne Counties.

* Generate suspects and prospects that result in job creation and capital investment.

* Establish and maintain close working relationships with the West Virginia Development Office and other local, state, and federal stakeholders.

* Create a climate that will maximize positive economic growth through creative leadership.

* Create effective channels of communication with all levels of government.

* Manage the finances, day to day operations, and staff of HADCO.


QUALIFICATIONS

* Proven track record in economic development in a senior level position.

* Previous experience working with variety of economic development projects both domestic and foreign.

* Understand the role of local economic development.

* Ability to deal in diverse climates.

* Strong leadership skills.

* Strong communication skills.

* Previous management experience.
