JOB POSITION
Director of National Account Sales for large
regional ice cream manufacturer with sales to major grocery
chains. Position will report to CEO and be responsible directly
for all sales to Walmart and Kroger, as well as sales development
in new retailers (eg. Winn Dixie and Publix). Must be able
and grow existing sales at key retailers, maintain all required
liaison activities, sales presentations and manage sales promotion
budgets and planning. Responsibilities include the management
of sales managers working on other business with other retailers.
QUALIFICATIONS
(Ideally, candidate is familiar with selling to Kroger, Walmart
and other large national chains representing packaged foods
manufacturers)
* Experienced in analyzing retailer and syndicated
sales data
* Excellent communications skills and experience presenting
at headquarters level
* Must be able to manage sales objectives as well as develop
and manage trade promotional spending budget
* Strong proven abilities to open new accounts and grow existing
business
* Experience working with both DSD and warehouse distribution
systems
* Familiar with presenting and processing new items into the
retailers systems
* Manage sales reports and report to internal management
* Experience managing and motivating sales staff
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Develops and implements action plans that
increase Yarnell's product presence. Manage relationships
with all partner brands to achieve:
* Dollar goals
* Gross margin goals
* ACV goals
2. Work closely with the Director of DSD Operations
to assure communication and total support between teams.
3. Develop and nurture strong customer contacts
and positive, proactive relationships with retail managers
and representatives to ensure open streams of communication.
4. Assures effective training, motivation, discipline
and evaluation of all sales staff.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
* 7 - 10 years successful key account sales
experience in the grocery business, and 3 - 5 years proven
management experience in grocery account sales.
* High level of competence in Microsoft Office,
Microsoft Outlook, sales contact management programs, and
mainframe exposure.
* Undergraduate degree in marketing, sales,
advertising, or related area and extensive post-graduate education,
seminars, etc.
* Professional level communication skills with
demonstrated problem solving and negotiations ability. Able
to read, speak and write business level correspondence and
communicate effectively to all levels of individuals.
* Must be a creative thinker and adaptable to
consistently deal with ever-changing conditions.
* Travel is required to adequately manage and
direct the Sales Team and maintain relationship with national
customers.
* Must conduct self in a professional manner
at all times with personnel and customers.
* Must be able and available to work weekends.
* Must be able to lift 40-pound packages of
frozen desserts occasionally.
* Driving record, which is approved for
coverage by our current vehicle insurer.
